A foundation course to equip you with essential tools to support your work with groups.
What does it include?
This one-day training will introduce you to three core facilitation skills and give you a chance to practice these with other participants. It includes:
An overview of the role of a facilitator, and the typical tasks and activities you might need to do when facilitating.
Designing workshops and group activities: a checklist of the main things you’ll need to consider when designing group activities, plus a chance to develop some sample session plans and get feedback from the tutor and group.
Core facilitation skills: an introduction to three essential skills which will help you to facilitate groups:
Active listening, open questions and summarising
Designing participatory and inclusive activities
Successfully opening and closing workshops or group activities
Participants will also have access to an exclusive facilitation toolkit, including slides from the course, method cards, check-ins and check-outs, useful resources to build your practice, and links to other toolkits, resources and templates
At the end of this course, you might then want to go deeper into facilitation with our Facilitation 101 Intensive or Facilitation Masterclass.
How much does it cost?
Individuals who are self-funding: £299 +VAT
Voluntary sector organisations or those under £500,000 turnover: £349 +VAT
All other organisations £399 +VAT
We also offer two bursaries per course, which cover 75% of the fees.
